It requires a great amount of skill to make quality handmade wooden products. There's three basic types of wood. Softwoods come from evergreen trees. Hardwoods from deciduous trees. And man made woods like plywood. Norm Abram, John Boson, and Alvar Aalto are three master carpenters who can transform simple wood into the finest furniture. Today most woodworking tools are power driven. Both furniture makers in a woodshop and construction workers on a construction site use common woodworking tools like table saws, jointers, routers, and sanders. Operating power tools can be dangerous. Without the proper knowledge and training you can cause yourself serious injury. Master carpenters train for many years to learn to produce quality furniture while safely handling the toos. In the hands of a master carpenter, all tools can make fine furniture.
