Greenhouse Gardening is Easier than You Think
If you are choosing to either get a contractor to build your greenhouse or want to build it yourself there are some great choices out there. Some of the greenhouses can be attached to your home and a direct entrance can be established so you never have to go out side. It really depends upon what you want and how much you want to spend. You will find that there are many greenhouses to choose from in many different sizes. There are also smaller greenhouses, sometimes referred to as mini greenhouses, which can be placed on decks and balcony landings for those who are space challenged. Measure your space and build or buy accordingly. Most home built greenhouses have frames made of either wood or aluminum. You will want to decide if the look is more important than the overall strength as aluminum is stronger than wood but wood looks really good. Of course a good foundation is the most important thing to consider. Though there are greenhouse kits that can be placed on a dirt foundation with anchor kits, most people place their greenhouse on some type of foundation. There are many to choose from that include block, wood, slab and brick. Floors can be left as dirt or grass or covered with gravel, pavers or mulch. You also have several choices for the sidewall covering that have different rating for UV light and snow load capabilities. These range from the traditional glass, which can be dangerous in certain circumstances, to the insulated double walled paneling or the cheaper plastic sheeting. No matter what you use you will want to think ahead about whether you will ever want to move or relocate the greenhouse. This will definitely impact your decisions about what materials to use for construction. Now all you have to do is buy it or build it. -->
