Reach for the Gold, with Hypnosis!
Well, as we watched her skating it encouraged me to put out an article that I wrote for a fitness magazine that year. It looked as if Sarah Hughes was floating off the ground. She made everything look so effortless and carried a smile that would throughout her program that looked as natural as a kid on the playground. Yes, Sarah did give a performance that looked almost perfect but part of her gold medal win can be attributed to Michelle Kwan's nagging little voice. When the cameras were filming Sarah's routine, it looked as if she had the confidence of a veteran twice her age. She skated with an ease and grace that mesmerized everyone watching her that night. Everybody was pinned to watching her routine as if completely spell bound by her charm. Unfortunately, after Sarah's wonderful routine we got were watching Michelle Kwan being her routine, and what we saw on her face and body was a complete opposite of the confidence and calm exhibited in Sarah's routine. Right from the get go, Michelle's routine was filled with unease that was the complete antithesis of what we saw in Sarah Huges. I'm definitely not a professional skater, but I am an expert in understanding the subconsciuos mind and I think I may provide some clues as to what happened to Michelle that night. Immediately within moments of taking that first jump, you can tell that Michelle's face showed a nervousness that was trying to be masked by a facade of confidence. Reaching world class level in any sport, especially if you are going for the Gold, requires that you are prepared in every way. From diet and nutrtion, to sleep and rest, to emotional preparation. Michelle seemed to be doing fine in all of those categories except that she may have held onto a nagging little voice inside of her that has been there since the Olympics 4 years ago in Nagano, Japan. So what do I think happened to Michelle on that night? I mean she must have done those jumps at least a thousand times before. However, those moments failed at her attempts couple with her "failure" in Nagano, Japan, might have brought back all that pressure this particular evening as she attempted to go for the Gold. That pressure could have whispered, "Oh no, here we go again." Many of us hear a negative hypnotic voice in our heads. For example: think about the many times you may have started a diet and exercise program only to have failed because your little voice was too over powering: "It's too hard to stay away from that doughnut, it's too hard to cook my own meals, it's too hard to make time for exercise" any of that sound familiar? Where does this voice come from? That annoying voice has actually, in a twisted way been trying to protect you from feeling bad. Only thing is it did such a good job that it kept you from even trying in the first place so that you wouldn't feel bad (I'll discuss this in more detail in volume 3 of this article) So in time, the problem started to accumulate evidence for these patterns and deep inside of you the little voice was accepted as truth, even if you did not consciously want it there, no matter how hard you tried to change this belief. In fact you may even strengthen this behavior with rationalizing thoughts like: "It's just not possible to look like that, they were born that way" or "my husband or boyfriend loves me for who I am so I'm comfortable with myself", and my all time favorite "I'm just too old." So what's the answer to finally breaking these old patterns that have been ingrained inside of you for so long? HYPNOSIS - using this amazing tool you can access the deep parts of your subconscious mind to release the resistance you've had in the past to create new changes in the way you think and behave. First, you'll need to arm yourself with some knowledge of the conscious and subconscious mind and how they work with each other, or in this case apart from one another. In the next installment of this article you'll learn about the conscious mind. In the 3rd installment of this article, you'll grasp an understanding of the subconscious mind and how it works according to hypnosis concepts and techniuqes. I'll even teach you how to use affirmations in a way that helps you "take out the old garbage" before you fill it with seeds of change. But to get started, keep in mind that your thoughts have energy to create and manifest your behaviours and thus your reality. You do have the power to make your thoughts positive, and this will inevitably lead to your success. Remember the lessons of Michele Kwan and don't let a nagging little voice keep you from the "Gold". -->
