Attraction 101 - Traits In A Man That Attract Women
For now, we'll put aside what women are telling us about what they're looking for in a man. Rather, we will observe the type of men that they really choose. The discrepancy between what they're telling us and their actual choices for a mate is revealing. Some women say that they want guys who will listen to them. But then they choose men who dominate the conversation. Others say they want a kind gentleman. Then they date someone who has big muscles or perhaps has a lot of money. Why all the discrepancies between what they tell us and who they choose? This paradox can be understood if you understand the true nature of attraction and how it was built into us by evolution. First, it's important to realize that attraction isn't something that you have much control over. Men and women alike have little or no control over the chemistry of sexual attraction. It is an instinct built into us by evolution for reproductive reasons. Men are normally drawn to women who are in good health and are fertile. This is why women who are young and who have a body shape of a certain proportionality are preferred by men. Curves and youth indicate high fertility. Some men might tell us that other qualities are more important, but they still have a strong attraction to fertile women. When it comes to the chemistry of sexual attraction, women too are governed by some very basic instincts. Women are naturally drawn to men who can be a good provider for her children. Therefore they are drawn to fit and vigorous men who have a high status. A fit man with high status will be better able to provide for the needs of her children. The men with status are usually the leaders who are aggressive and tend to take charge. They are known as alpha males otherwise known by women as 'real men'. So this is why power and big muscles hold a greater attraction to women than a good listener who is nice. When all of humanity where hunter/gatherers, being a good listener or being nice to our women was irrelevant to survival. What truly mattered more than all else was having the vigor and backbone to bring home the bacon. Only these qualities made it possible for a man to be a good provider. Now it's very clear why nice guys have no sex appeal. Or guys who have no confidence and can't lead or take charge of a situation. These qualities are not considered sexy in a man. Today, having big muscles isn't all that necessary if you project strength and vigor in other ways. This can be done by the clothing that you choose to wear, how you carry yourself and your physical fitness. Strength is also conveyed in the way that you behave around people. A wuss is not appealing. Lots of people would say that the qualities of an attractive man are shallow. And in one sense, it's true. But remember that the chemistry of attraction is also a shallow thing. It is primordial and simple. But it's a powerful force in all of us that has ensured the proliferation of our species. While the qualities described here are attractive to women, they aren't enough for sustaining a good and healthy relationship. But that is another topic. Remember, before you can have a relationship you'll have to attract her first. -->
