What Wedding Customs Fit in Your Plans?

No matter where in the world you go, you can always find one blushing bride or another. Weddings are a significantly essential point of passage for many newly weds. In every culture, you will find that there are wedding customs that have been handed down from the beginning of time, many steeped deeply in religious beliefs. Many of these wedding customs carry a promise of bringing good fortune and happiness to the bride and groom as well as their life together and any potential children they may have. You will also find that many bridal couples create their very own wedding traditions, some of these fairly modern as well as some that have been past down from grandmother to granddaughter, these of course becoming a family wedding custom. Although, you should keep in mind that many ancient wedding customs were at one time new rituals as well. Here we will take a look at some of the most touching wedding customs that are found the world over, bringing joy not only to the newly weds, but for their families and friends as well. The majority of Eastern European Wedding customs relate to happiness, fertility, long life and prosperity. Moreover, it seems that there is a surge by newly weds today in Europe to once more celebrate their own wedding day with some of the most unique and ancient traditions while getting married. For instance, in Czechoslovakia, the friends of the bride plant a sapling in her yard that is decorated with dazzling color painted egg shells and brightly colored ribbons with the belief that the bride would live as long as bridal her tree. They would also place a baby in the couples wedding bed as a symbol of fertility for the newly weds. In Poland, the parents of the bridal couple will present them with a glass of wine and rye bread that is sprinkled with salt. The salt is a symbol of a life free of difficulties and the bread so that the couple never knows hunger; the wine is a blessing of happiness and health. Although there are so many other wedding customs throughout Europe, it is certain that every wedding is celebrated with enthusiastic music and dancing as well as many inspirational songs. Asia also has a great many interesting and colorful wedding customs. For instance, in Japan their wedding gowns or kimono are made of an array of lovely colors, with purple being the favorite since it is a color that represents love, so they have no real hang up for a bride to wear white. Indonesia is known for its very long receiving lines, as there may be more than one thousand guests in attendance, while the bride and groom welcome each guest to their wedding. Korea has a tradition of the benefits of a fortuneteller who gazes into the future of the bridal couple before they get married to make sure they are harmoniously balanced. In Spain, many brides will embroider the wedding shirt of their groom, and the couple exchange wedding rings, which are then worn on the ring finger of their right hands. Many couples are also greeted by firecrackers when they exit the church.
