Will You Consider an Informal Wedding Gown?
The wedding gown is the most important item on your big day. A beautiful gown can draw all the attentions of your guests and they will certainly remember you and your wedding. Some brides may insist that a wedding is a formal event and the gown should also be a formal one.
In fact, a formal wedding gown has its own merits. It is always good to choose a formal gown if you are a person who really cares about etiquette. And classic gowns can be very elegant and beautiful. However, you may have a feeling that all formal gowns are alike although there are plenty of styles and variations. If you really have this feeling, an informal one may be your choice.
Interestingly, the number one reason for a bride to choose an informal gown is that it is more comfortable, both physically and emotionally, than a formal one. It may be due to the reason that a formal gown looks too "heavy" compared to what girls and women wear normally nowadays. It is very true that it is very important to be comfortable because it is your wedding day. It is meant to be joyful and happy. It really makes no sense if your wedding dress is a dress that makes your feel uncomfortable.
Besides, the image of a classic wedding dress can sometimes be too "powerful" in a sense that the bride may be overwhelmed by the dress. No matter it is a wedding dress or not, it should be something that enhance the beauty of the bride but not making the bride something secondary. The focus and center of the wedding should be the couple but not what the couple wears. To this end an informal wedding dress may serve this purpose better than a formal one.
You can be more unique and original if you wear an informal wedding gown. As discussed before, there are different styles and variations for formal wedding dress. However, it can still be something considered stereotype, especially when you choose a really classic white dress. On the contrary, you can have numerous choices for the color of your informal gown. Some common choices are pink and blue. Of course you can select your favorite color for your own dress. Besides, since there is no definite style for your informal dress, you can have something more special. Thus you can be more unique and original when you walk down the aisle.
If you are "crazy" enough, you can make something really different. For example if you are going to hold a beach wedding, you can think of a wedding dress like a swimming suit, or even bikini. Of course you have to be "brave" enough to do so.
Whether you will choose a formal or an informal wedding dress is totally up to you. The most important point is that you feel comfortable with it. If you think an informal one is more comfortable, you should then go for this option. However, if you feel uncomfortable with an informal one, you can go back to the option of a traditional and classic gown. At the end of the day you should make the decision based on your preference.
